Departments
The most primary and essential department. Undergraduate students learn basics of Nursing Science & Arts with hands-on experience incorporating biological and behavioral sciences in the Fundamental Nursing Laboratory.
Prepares students to provide healthcare to rural and urban communities, focusing on preventive care at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels including National Health Policies and Health Care Delivery Systems.
Focuses on care of women from adolescence through elderly stages. Major emphasis on Womens Reproductive Health and Safe Motherhood, extended to rural and urban community populations.
Enables students to learn the art and science of caring for well and sick children with hands-on experience in preventive health techniques, health assessment and diagnostic procedures.
Introduces students to disease conditions, nursing care planning and life-threatening situations. Students independently operate ECG machines, Ventilators and critical care monitors. Special focus on Geriatric care.
Teaches essentials of mental health and ill health with emphasis on Sound Mind in Sound Body. Services extended to rural and urban populations coordinated with Community Health Nursing.
Courses
B.Sc. Nursing
- Passed 10+2 with Science (PCB) & English Core/Elective with minimum 45% aggregate from a recognized board (CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or equivalent).
- Students from National Institute of Open School appearing in 10+2 Science with 45% marks are also eligible.
- Candidate must be medically fit. Admitted once per academic year.
G.N.M.
- 10+2 preferably Science (PCB) & English with 40% aggregate from a recognized board, or Arts stream with English Core/Elective with 40% marks.
- 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE or equivalent board recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
- Registered ANM with State Nursing Registration Council also eligible. Candidate must be medically fit. Admitted once per academic year.
M.Sc. Nursing
- Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (or equivalent) with any State Nursing Registration Council.
- Passed B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks.
- Minimum one year work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing, or prior/after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
- Passed Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary / 10+2 or equivalent from recognized university. Those who completed 10+1 on or before 1986 are also eligible.
- Must hold GNM certificate and be registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
- Male nurses must provide evidence of INC-approved training in OT Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, or Orthopedic Nursing.
- Candidate must be medically fit. Admitted once per academic year.
